Sandstone Falls NRG
Sandstone Falls is the largest waterfall on the New River, spanning 1500 feet from bank to bank. The park is located neat Hinton, West Virginia. The river divided by a series of islands gives the falls a height of 10 to 25 feet. From here the New River moves towards the last leg of its journey, before joining with the Gauley River to form the Kanawha River. Sandstone Falls is a great recreational spot offering a wide range of outdoor activity from fishing, to hiking. The Sandstone Visitor Center at Sandstone exit 139 on I-64, offers many excellent exhibits, on the New River, and the cultural, and natural history of the upper New River.
